The Gnostic Cathar ChroniclesBook DescriptionI follow Gnostic Cathar Philosophy. I love its beauty, its complexity, its ever-deepening depths as it continues to mix spirituality and mysticism with science, in its dynamic quest to discover, uncover, the realities of this world together with the world of spirit. With that said, at its heart, Gnostic philosophy (it is a philosophy, not a religion) is about one’s quest to find one’s very own connection to the Divine without another’s intervention; without another intermediary. Did I find Gnosticism or did Gnosticism find me? Both - for Gnosticism works by emanation, one is naturally drawn to the other through mutual attraction and spiritual evolvement. Certainly for me, Gnosticism is a thing of majesty and beauty that continually grows and dynamically changes as ever more mystic and scientific knowledge is added. Contrarily, all religions work tirelessly to cement your mind, reason and soul in questionable ancient beliefs dating back a millennium or two. I well remember throwing off the yoke of religious belief around the age of fourteen. It was on a Friday during school holidays, I was about to buy a meat pie for lunch when the realisation assailed me that should I eat this pie then suddenly die (not necessarily from the pie), I would go straight to hell. It was at that very moment, I realised there was no way that my mother, who loved me, would punish me with hell for eternity for eating a forbidden pie (then, to eat meat on a Friday was a mortal sin. It’s okay now - just not fair), then why would God, who is supposed to love me even more than my Mum, do so? In that instant religion with its concept of hell disappeared, never to return.Over the course of seven years I was awoken thirty-one times with masses of information pushing my dreaming aside to the extent that I had to rise from my warm bed to type them out on my computer. So herein are thirty-one essays pertaining to Gnostic Cathar philosophy, as explained by Guide, Henri de Nebours, a learned Cathar Bishop. Though some might find the essays fascinating; some might find them informative, however for those truly interested in Gnosticism and one of its offshoots Catharism, this book is an essential read. Along life’s way I discovered, or was drawn to, the story of the Medieval Cathar social revolution whose essence was centred around unconditional love. I noted that Catharism had a Gnostic philosophic base which led me into that highly complicated world of Gnosticism. One soon discovers that Greek. Christian, Platonist, Neo-platonist, Sufi, and Jungian Gnostic writings are quite vast, very confusing and even over-whelming. Yet at its heart the Gnostic message is simple and what this book is all about: It’s also about one’s solo journey to discover one’s self and one’s place in the cosmos by searching within rather than without. I did find that understanding Gnostic Catharism, brought good news for one’s mind and tranquility for one’s soul - which suited me just fine. For those drawn to Gnostic Catharism, even for those who are philosophically curious, this book will delight your mind as you mull over its thirty-one short essays channeled to me by Henri de Nebours, which, may assist greatly in bringing more peace to your mind and more tranquility to your soul.
