As Captain of the vaunted Marksmen Guard, Neil Stryder is considered one of, if not the most, dangerous warrior in all Ealderium. When a coup threatens to frame him for the death of his father-in-law, and leader of the country of Vessel, he and his fellow members of the Marksmen Guard are forced into hiding. With few friends left to him, and an entire country hunting him, Neil flees to become a mercenary while planning to clear the name of the Marksmen Guard by unveiling the true events of that fateful night. While Neil spends years piecing together what he can about that night, his past begins playing a major role in his future, and the future of all humanity. Unknowingly he becomes embroiled with an old enemy that must never be awakened. Neil, and his friends, are the last hope humanity has in stopping an ancient power that seeks to change the world as they know it, but what if they can't stop it? What if they shouldn't? The Marksmen Guard is a take on my love for fantasy and military thrillers. I have a tendency to latch on to characters. From everything to video games, movies, TV shows and of course books, I tried to create my own characters with inspiration from my life and characters I have fallen in love with over the years. Enjoy the nods to differnet genres you may pick up on! As a whole, The Marksmen Guard is built on The Witcher, Halo (books and games), and Dragonlance. Powerful soldiers, returning ancient beings, betrayal, and the deep freindships of soldiers born and bred for war on the continent of Ealderium. This is the first book in a planned 4-5 book series with The Marksmen Guard: The Power of Exaltation coming 5/18/2026. Nathaniel is a Pittsburgh-based fantasy author best known for his book "The Marksmen Guard". He grew up in York, Pennsylvania, balancing his passion for athletics and fantasy. He attended Robert Morris University, where he played hockey and connected with the Pittsburgh area, now his long term home with his wife Kristen. After graduating he started working for the Pennsylvania State Senate - an experience he credits for providing plenty of real-world intrigue into his writing. Nathaniel began writing for more than hobby during the pandemic, encouraged by his wife to pursue his love for all things fantasy. His debut novel, "The Marksmen Guard" was published in 2022. Since then, he has continued to refine his work, writing The Marksmen Guard: The Power of Exaltation (book 2 in the series), and started drafting two young adult projects. The first is a YA Romance called "Fractured Pantheon" and a YA urban fantasy called "The Gray Hat Reapers".
