My soon to be 5 year old enjoyed this workbook so much he completed 3/4 of the workbook in 1 sitting! Colorfully illustrated, lots of variety, and instructions were easy for him to read and understand. We will be purchasing more! --School Zone Website In order to both read and write well, kids need to know how to spot differences. So this book really fits the bill, even though the assorted tasks are widely varied. Spot-the-Difference games, mazes, "who doesn't belong in this picture", and letter sounds all mix with very simple math portrayals. All color pages, with mazes that are realistic and nothing too complicated nor too easy. I like that the designers actually cared about making the pages interesting rather than slapping out typical designs for small kids. Age range, I think it runs a bit younger than Kindergarten Basics, maybe late Pre-K is more appropriate. The price is really hard to beat too! --Amazon I really like this workbook because it doesn't focus on printing letters. My daughter at 4 loved workbooks, but was not coordinated enough to print yet. This book was great because she practice letter recognition without the stress of printing. I also liked it because it didn't progress too rapidly.
