I created the Rubric Rules system when my twin boys were twelve years old and used them until they left for college. It was amazing how well they worked! My husband was so astonished that he urged me to copyright them and write a book.     I got the idea from using rubrics when I was a school teacher.  (Rubrics are worksheets that break a large assignment into several smaller tasks and then each task is graded to get the overall grade.) I thought rubrics would work perfectly for the assignment of cleaning a room.     My sons are grown now, but using the Rubric Rules instilled a strong work ethic in them.
