Praise for Sick & Tired by Kimberly Rae: This book touched not only my funny bone but also my heart. -Katie This is by far the most uplifting, understanding book that I have ever read! -Susan I feel like I'm sitting cross-legged on the floor...talking one-on-one. -Amy Health, Fitness & Dieting > Diseases & Physical Ailments > Pain Management Health > Fitness & Dieting > Personal Health > Women's Health > Interpersonal Conflict > Family Relationships > Personality Types > Love Languages > Crisis Management ...an amazing read for both my husband and myself, and helped us to focus on us and not just my illness. - Jennifer, Chronic Illness Sufferer If you have chronic health problems, you're probably thinking, "Finally, a book about me. This will help others understand." If you're a loved one of a chronically ill person, you're probably thinking, "Finally, a book about me. This will help others understand."  So is this book for people with chronic illness or for people who love them and live with them? Yes. Whichever you are, this is for you, but not just you. This book is focused on the connection between the two, one that is often filled with misunderstandings, unspoken frustrations and unmet expectations, but one that can be filled with appreciation, understanding and love. If nearly one out of every two people in our country have a chronic condition, then at least that many people love or live with someone with a condition. That's a lot of people, and there are few resources out there stating that those people, the friends and caregivers, have their own struggles with chronic illness. It may not affect their physical bodies, but it definitely affects their lives. Chronic illness is a big deal in our country. Over 133 million Americans have some kind of chronic illness, 96% of those illnesses being "invisible," meaning we don't look sick in an obvious way. Chronic illness is the reason for a whopping 99% of all doctor visits, 92% of all in-patient hospital visits, and 82% of all prescriptions. Ouch. If that's not overwhelming enough, add to those numbers all the friends or loved ones who take those chronically ill people to the doctor, visit them in the hospital, keep track of medications, or pray or worry or wish they could make it all go away. Chronic illness is hard for the sick person - people with chronic illness are more likely to struggle with depression. It is hard for the sick person's spouse - the divorce rate among the chronically ill is over 75%. If you're a sick person, you probably struggle with feeling misunderstood and lonely. If you're a caregiver, you probably struggle with feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated. Is there a way for both sides to be understood, helped and loved? To not feel their own needs go ignored? Not every moment of every day, perhaps, but overall, yes, I believe there is. This book is to help you get as close to that good place as possible. So come on in. We'll talk about guilt, frustration and honesty, personality types and love languages, and the best ways to help and be helped. Hopefully by the end you will feel someone has voiced your perspective. Maybe the perspective from the other side will be a little clearer, too. Whichever side you are on, you are not alone, and with a little work and a lot of understanding, things can get better. For you. And them. Praise for Sick and Tired Book One of the Sick & Tired Series LOVED it!!! I have to say the man that pulled up next to me in the grocery parking lot probably thought I was crazy cause I was laughing my head off after reading the first two chapters. This book has been such an encouragement and a blessing to my heart! -Kimberly Kimberly Rae uses insights gleaned from her own life and chronic illnesses to share lessons learned and hope to others, informally teaching. The tone is light, casual and non-intimidating. I love the questions she includes at the end of each chapter intended for you to ask yourself, or answer in pairs or a group setting to explore her ideas in your own life. I feel like I'm sitting cross-legged on the
