A young man with a cowardly reputation feels forced to leave his midwest town of Danville in order to escape the constant ridicule. The truth was that he deserved the reputation as a coward, and he knew it. Never having ridden a horse in his life, he buys one at the local livery and heads west. His adventures are harrowing, testing his resolve to the limits. Fortunately for him, his new horse, Wind, turns out to be his life saver. Cliff spent most of his childhood in Rural Colorado. He move around some since then, until landing in his present home of Kalispell, Montana, where he rides horses and continues writing books.
