Sawdust Memories: A History of Camden, Texas.

Camden, Texas, had been the home of the W.T. Carter Lumber Company for more than seventy-five years. This is the story of the working and family lives of the people who resided in the company-owned community and operated the mill during that period. It is based on interviews with many of the former employees or their families, and includes an extensive roster of the workers and their responsibilities, selected bios and many personal photographs. Norma Hammond McLoughlin grew up in Polk County, Texas, and graduated from Big Sandy High School. She received her RN degree from Scott and White Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Temple, Texas, and worked as a school nurse in a private school in New Orleans before returning to Texas to retire.
