This book focuses on New Jersey's minor league baseball teams: Lakewood BlueClaws, New Jersey Jackals, Somerset Patriots, Sussex County Miners and Trenton Thunder. New Jersey has a rich history when it comes to professional baseball. Although never having a Major League Baseball team, the Garden State has had numerous professional teams over the years. This book is part historical account and part baseball road trip. Minor league baseball provides fans an inexpensive way to enjoy the game that is close to home. My son Ian and I visited the different ballparks in New Jersey. The book also touches upon those teams that are no longer in existence such as the Atlantic City Surf, Camden Riversharks and the Newark Bears. Baseball is more than just a game. It is a chance to create memories with family and friends. The book has photos from all the different locations we visited during our trips to the ballparks.
