Though raising children in the fear of the Lord has always presented challenges and difficulties throughout the ages, parents are facing obstacles and adversaries that are more aggressive than in past decades. With the culture’s continued spiral into godless paganism, combined with the high emphasis placed on psychological treatments and the disintegration of the family, there is much confusion among Christian mothers regarding how they should parent their children. They are bombarded with a plethora of messages in the form of tweets, memes, TikToks, Instagram influencers, podcasts, blogs, and social media friends, many of which are conflicting. How do they know which one is right? What advice should they follow? To complicate matters further, much of the advice they receive is considered “Christian.” The goal of Contend for Their Hearts is to first present a wake-up call. By providing a brief history of Marxism and describing its affects on our culture, moms are called to fight biblically for the hearts of their children. Young parents who have become acclimated to the culture of relativism and anti-truth need to recognize the dangers their children are facing. Behind our God-hating culture, we have a spiritual enemy who delights in the eternal destruction of children. Moms must be aware! They must acknowledge and engage in the fight for their children’s souls using the truth of Scripture. In response to the culture's aggressive attack on children, parents need practical instruction on how to raise their children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Looking at many of the current challenges, this book delves deeply into Scripture to warn, prepare, and instruct mothers in the truth of God’s Word, so they can confidently raise their children to fear the Lord.
