The Adventure of Marcus and Flynn

When Marcus and Flynn search for an adventure, they find themselves in an old furniture store where they pass through a portal into the magic land of Scootaloops. As they travel through the land with a Scootaloop named Loopy, they encounter Grace O’Malley, a lady pirate. Before they can go home they are expected to help O’Malley get her stolen treasure back from the thieves. In order to do so, they need to escape from the monsters in the black castle, and make their way to Queen Elizabeth. Will they find their way home, or will they be stuck forever in Scootaloop Land? Maggie Tallman taught fourth grade for several years. The rest of her professional life was spent in the Head start program, first as a Head Start teacher, and later as a director of the program for the five northern counties of North Idaho. She spent seventeen years with the program and enjoyed every minute of it. Maggie has five children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; amongst them are Marcus and Flynn, the characters in this book. She started telling these stories to her children over fifty years ago. She continued to tell the same stories to the grandchildren when they spent the night at grandma's house. Some years ago, she put the stories on paper and has recently decided to publish them. The books are written as read-aloud books for younger children, and chapter books for children who are reading above second grade level. This is one of three books that Maggie has written. She hopes to publish the two companion books soon. Maggie resides in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She is 80 years old now, but doesn't let that get in the way of accomplishing her dreams.
