She has worked in acute care, managed care, long-term care, and the physician's office and has held positions in nursing, quality management, infection control, medical assisting, medical transcription, and health information management. As an educator, she has taught college and community college courses in pharmacology and pathophysiology. She has presented numerous staff inservices in acute care, managed care, and long-term care settings and co-presented numerous all-day seminars for teachers throughout the country. She codeveloped the curriculum and training materials for a nationally distributed medical transcription training program and currently works as a consultant in curriculum development and instructor for a distance learning school with health information management and medical transcription programs. She is the author of numerous medical and educational articles for national journals, and co-author of two funded national healthcare grants. She has a Master of Arts degree in adult education, a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, and national certification in the fields of health information management and medical transcription.
